Friends & Family

Supporting a family member or friend with MRKH can be difficult. With the right information — as well as your love and support — you can make an enormous difference to someone with MRKH.

The impact of MRKH can span beyond the person directly affected, requiring compassion and empathy for all involved. We encourage family members, partners and friends to seek out support to assist your loved one, and yourself.

Understanding the complexities of MRKH for a parent and/or guardian, partners and friend is integral to their ability to fully support the person on the MRKH journey. MRKH Australia can provide additional resources to assist and support families through this time. With information and knowledge to support the family network, the quality of relationships between people with MRKH and family members can greatly improve because of a holistic understanding of the MRKH.

By offering support and resources, MRKH Australia aims to extend our support not only for people with MRKH, but those close to them.

“There isn’t a beginning, middle or stop button for the MRKH diagnosis. It is an evolving process that requires continuous and ongoing support. The parents must attempt to grow with their child through the life stages, and without family support, the realities can look starkly different.”
